Opening Digital Outcomes and Specialists 2 for applications

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: Digital Outcomes and Specialists

The second iteration of Digital Outcomes and Specialists will open for applications in November 2016.

We’re not going to make any changes to the application process or framework agreement for Digital Outcomes and Specialists 2. However, we’re planning to start work later this year to see what improvements we should make for Digital Outcomes and Specialists 3.

Offering your services

The categories of services suppliers can offer will be the same. Suppliers can apply if they can offer services in at least one of the following categories:

  • digital outcomes, for example a team to provide a booking system beta or an accessibility audit
  • digital specialists, for example an individual developer or user researcher to work on a specific project
  • user research participants
  • user research studios

When to apply for Digital Outcomes and Specialists 2

Digital Outcomes and Specialists 2 will open for applications at the beginning of November 2016 and will be open for 5 weeks.

Suppliers who don't have an account can create one now on the Digital Marketplace. All suppliers will be notified when Digital Outcomes and Specialists 2 is open for applications.

Read about the application process.

Closing Digital Outcomes and Specialists

We expect that suppliers will be able to sell their services on Digital Outcomes and Specialists 2  from February 2017. At this point, the current Digital Outcomes and Specialists framework will close.

Contracts awarded under Digital Outcomes and Specialists before the closing date will continue to be valid until the end of that contract.

Digital Outcomes and Specialists suppliers

To continue to sell their services, Digital Outcomes and Specialists suppliers will need to reapply for Digital Outcomes and Specialists 2.

"Suppliers who don't have an account can create one now on the Digital Marketplace."

Can they? I can only see an option to create a buyer account.

Scratch this – the page had only loaded its left hand side for some reason. Refreshing shows the option.

Given that you say: "We’re not going to make any changes to the application process or framework agreement for Digital Outcomes and Specialists 2", why do all suppliers need to go through the application process again so soon? Could you not just ask each supplier whether their situation has changed and, if not, automatically move them to the new version of the framework?

      Hi James,

Thank you for your feedback. We open applications for Digital Marketplace frameworks every 6-9 months so that government buyers have access to the latest market innovators and new businesses. New and existing suppliers must apply for a place on each new framework in the same manner. This ensures the application process for all potential suppliers is fair, open and transparent.

For DOS2, there will also be some minor changes to the legal documents that we need suppliers to review and accept. As this will be a new framework (although not very different to the 1st iteration of DOS), all potential suppliers are required by law to apply in the usual manner and cannot simply reauthorise the information they provided for DOS.

We are conscious that existing suppliers would like to save time when moving from one iteration of a framework to the next and in the future, we’ll work with the Government Legal Department to investigate whether there’s a compliant way to offer this.

Will there be a third iteration in the next 6-9 months?
